Dated another woman after killing Shraddha
According to TV reports, Aaftab had invited another woman to his rented flat in south Delhi’s Mehrauli on a date days after murdering Shraddha.
Poonawala allegedly got in touch with the other woman, a psychologist, on Bumble — the same dating app on which he had first come in contact with Walkar.
The other woman visited his house once or twice in June-July. Strangely, when she was inside his house, he had hidden Walker’s body parts in the kitchen’s fridge, according to a report published in the Indian Express.
Inspired by American television series
According to police, Aaftab killed Shraddha Walker after a quarrel over marriage. Inspired by American television series ‘Dexter’, he cut her body into pieces.
Aaftab, who has over 28k followers on Instagram, bought a refrigerator of 300 liters to store the mutilated parts. The investigation also revealed that he used incense sticks and room freshener to suppress the stench emanating from the dead body.
Talking to her friends
After murdering Shraddha, Aaftab interacted with her friends using her social media accounts so as not to arouse suspicion. He also paid her credit card bills so that the companies don’t contact her on her Mumbai address, as per the Indian Express report.
Fight over petty issues
When in Mumbai, the couple used to fight over small issues and would suspect each other of cheating and lying.
“They would call each other and ask for exact GPS locations and photos of their surroundings. The fights would often get violent,” reports Indian Express quoting a police officer.
This didn’t stop in Delhi too. They moved to Delhi on May 15 and three days later, they again got into the fight which turned fatal.
