RANCHI: The Jharkhand unit of RJD on Saturday stayed away from the UPA’s protest against the alleged misuse of central agencies. The party accused JMM and Congress of taking decisions without consulting its party leaders.
RJD state president Sanjay Singh Yadav said, “Though we oppose the wrong use of central agencies, we would not follow the decisions taken solely by JMM and Congress. As a state president, I have conveyed the decision to RJD national president Lalu Prasad.”
Yadav said that JMM and Congress have ignored RJD office bearers while taking important decisions related to policies and political programmes and the RJD would not continue obeying their ‘farman’ (dictat). Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren never invited RJD leaders to important meetings. The RJD sacrificed several seats in the interest of the UPA during the last assembly elections, but JMM and Congress have forgotten it, he claimed.
While stating that RJD was opposing the actions being taken by the CBI and the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) for the past several years, Yadav said his party would decide its furture course of agitation the on misuse of central agencies. He, however, clarified that RJD continues to be an integral part of the UPA.
