BIJNOR: A six-year-old boy, who was on a bike with his grandfather, was injured after he was attacked by a leopard on Thursday. The incident occurred in Naugavan Sadat area in Amroha when the leopard suddenly emerged from the nearby sugarcane field and caught the boy.
Sahil and his grandfather, Kamaruddin (50), were on their way to their native place Jabbarpur when the leopard suddenly attacked the boy from behind and he sustained head injuries. As Kamaruddin started screaming, the leopard abandoned the child and disappeared into the field. He then informed the cops, who rushed to the spot and admitted the boy to a nearby hospital. The boy is currently under treatment, said Amroha superintendent of police Aditya Langeh. “Forest authorities have been instructed to set up a cage at the place where the leopard is straying,” he said.
